    Yes sir it does!

    Thank you!

I feel dumb that I haven’t even looked for this one…and I’ve been using AE since 4.1.

    Thanks for the reply Dave,

Sorry I didn’t make it so clear in the first post, images come in within 10 frames then they just pan over a 25 frame area, then 10 more frames of the image moves to the right again, etc etc.

I notice bumps, in some of them. I fixed it by extending the distance between the in and out keyframes.

This didn’t happen with previous versions of AE where there was no graph…gotta get used it it.

    Thanks! 🙂

Check out the Core 2 Duo’s that are out now… the Conroe E6600 is very sweet…You will need a new Motherboard…if you don’t want to build one, get one from Dell (I wouldn’t recommend them though) and get a Core 2 Duo setup.

Yep I was going to mention dual booting on a Mac, but since he wanted a desktop, didn’t mention. As Andrew mentioned, if you can wait (I don’t know when Apple is going to release it) they are creating desktop Macs with the Intel Core 2 Duo (I think this is what they will use, a new chipset, which beats AMD)…

I skipped the part where you need to precomp your layer THEN paste the mask. Sorry for that, guys.

There are workarounds but there is no way to resize the image underlaying a mask. You can however change position…My suggestion would be to CUT the mask (CTRL+X or CMD+X on a Mac) and then resize your layer, and paste the mask on it. Make sure to make a backup of your layer just in case.

It doesn’t really matter nowdays…but if you want to use Premiere & Encore you need a Windows machine. And the windows has a better integration with Adobe Dynamic Link, imo.

It’s not worth getting a G5 right now as Apple is changing all their CPU’s and they’re updating the desktop line with Intel chips. Generally, PC’s will always be faster because of so many hardware options out there and everyday advances in technology.

Mac vs. PC battles can go on for weeks, but I can sum it up: It all depends on your needs.

July 12, 2006 at 6:57 am in reply to: to key or to roto ??

You should give Chromakey a try first, since it’s way easier…and play around with the “Matte Choker” filter…if you get any dirt in your clips, you could always roto out those specks after you chromakey. I think this is way easier than roto, since your background is not that complex.

It’s always good to experiment first.

    Thanks.

I didnt have time to check alot of stuff at NAB as I spent more time in the TV/Video/Film showcase (cameras and such).

I’m interested in either the Aja or the Decklink card as I need the capabilities of SDI/Component In for the future. If these cards accelerate at least the rendering and are not wholly dependant on the CPU, then I’d grab one right now.

I don’t know if that version has OpenGL support, but disable it if it does and make sure it’s on Software Only rendering option.
