    Thanks.

Hopefully the Windows version of QuickTime fixes this as well.

Oh I forgot one more thing…since I’m mostly a Windows user, all MSDV AVI’s with a widescreen flag play fine in Windows Media Player and import with the proper settings in NLE’s/Compositing apps. How come it’s not the same for QuickTime DV files?

Thanks alot Danny for the quick response.

    Ok this worked.

The downside is as you said I have to save a new file or save this file, but I think it would mess it up if I try to import it into FCP etc.

How come FCP or even After Effects finds the proper flags for these files and not QT player? When I play the original file, it says “720×480 (854×480)” during playback.

    Thanks again

My mistake…I was talking about WindowsMedia…

I noticed that I’d need WMEncoder but now it seems that I’m forced to use it.

Should I export uncompressed out of AE then go into WMEncoder to do 2pass?

Thanks guys…I was looking at Nucleo, seems nice. As for RAM, I’m thinking of 4GB Max, I’m not running a render farm here so I can’t put in 16GB of ram heh.

So do you recommend I go with 2 x Dual Core Xeons?

But my source footage (DV) is interlaced….Do I need to “make it” progressive everytime I bring in video footage into IE? I’m in the NTSC land so it’s lower.

There is no quality loss with pre-comping…unless one of the precoms (you need to go back and checK) has some type of filter on it, or if the size property has been set to above 100%.

November 15, 2006 at 11:57 pm in reply to: Using PixelMotion in AE7

    Sorry about that,

I’m using a P4 3.0Ghz Machine with 2GB RAM and an ATI 9600XT graphics card…and plenty of HD space.

Source is DV (I tried MSDV & Canopus codecs, same for both)….

If I preview or render out footage that has pixelmotion enabled on them, they render out and cut off from the half of the screen (bottom side). default frame blending works fine.

    Tried reinstalling AE7, Same thing.
