Export out the clips as a filmstrip or targa/tiff sequence and do the roto in Photoshop. You’ll get a tighter roto and you won’t want to kill your neighbor.

so you have to import the AI file as layers or even cropped layers. You can find this in the window where you have browsed to find the AI file. If you import as “footage” you will get flat artwork.

Does the XL2 shoot in 24P Advanced like the Panasonic DVX-100A…
The reason i ask is that 24pA is actually 24 frames a second while just 24P is 24 frames run at 30 frames…AE sees the 24 frames a second much more acurately than Premire Pro. In my experience of course…

exactly!!!
but more than that. Animation is the better codec that I have used. Sorenson isn’t bad either but not as good as Animation.
Why do they call it Animation?

(take it or leave it) I learned everything I could from my teachers but the other half of my knowledge comes from books, sites(Cow Rules!!), other students, books, just sitting in front of AE for many hours.
School will teach you how to work well with others and be on deadline. And it might give you some working knowledge of any program. But in order to become a person who “KNOWS” AE one must take it upon themselves to learn every detail about the program.
with all that said. I would go to school. I would also learn everything I could from the great folks at the Cow and other creative outlets.

have you done the 3:2 pulldown in AE. That should turn your stuff into 24 fps.
other than that I don’t know

by no means am i a pro but I have found that quicktime seems to preserve the quality for me…But i also export all my stuff out to the Animation Codec at the best settings. File sizes are bigger but it keeps the resolution…

you might also try http://www.opengl.org
your card may not have it…it’s an NIVIDA card so it should….
Another option is to double check the NVIDA site to see if there is an OPEN GL driver or something like that
