    Hi All,

Were working DV footage from a XL2 shot at 24p, 2:3:3:2

After importation, Premiere recognizes the footage as 23.976, but when I import the raw caputure directly into AE, it reads it as 29.97.

I have tried to go into “Interpret footage” in AE and I get a reasonable results when choosing “none” for the fields and pulldowns (after forcing it into 23.976). However, there are still signs of interpol lines in the footage?

Any suggestions for the correct footage interpretation.

    Thanks in advance!

Well, it’s actually 29.97, since pulldown was added in camera. If you want to work in 23.976, you should interpret at 29.97 and lower field first, using “remove pulldown” (when interpreting) using an Advanced 24P cadence as you described at 2:3:3:2. Try selecting “guess 24pa pulldown” first, then try one of the advanced pulldown choices.

Does the XL2 shoot in 24P Advanced like the Panasonic DVX-100A…

The reason i ask is that 24pA is actually 24 frames a second while just 24P is 24 frames run at 30 frames…AE sees the 24 frames a second much more acurately than Premire Pro. In my experience of course…

    See yas

24pA is still 29.97, but with a different pulldown cadence.
