I have a Libec handle for my pro canon lenses that is a real workhorse. I bought it for $235 from a dealer in St. Louis through e-bay about 5 years ago. It works as well as the Canon I paid $1200 for, and, for $35 more, he gave me the correct part to screw it on to my Sachtler 20 head. All good on that. I’ll have to see if I can dig his contact info up somewhere.

I gotta get my ass over there for some Mongolian and some of that Danish hospitality. We should do that as a tourist group and fill his place up. There is supposed to be some smokin’ hot airline deal for $350 from/to Phoenix.

Don’t walk into our front door with pirated music because you will hear about it from me and l anyone else who doesn’t want their property used without their permission. A few years ago, I must have had a dozen job seekers come in with demo pieces cut to Clocks by Coldplay. Enough so that my first question became “Is your piece cut to Clocks?” If their answer was Yes, I showed them the door, but invited them back when they did it right.
Use a piece of great buy out music and re-cut your piece. This business is all about challenges.

Filming is filming.
taping is taping.
recording is recording.
I prefer to call it “shooting” and never refer to myself as a “videographer”. The word “video” has grown to refer to indicate VHS, as in “…available now on video and dvd”.
When I ask to see a shooter’s reel, I ask them to bring raw footage. Not something where they picked the best shot out of forty tries. Actually, the first thing we do is hand them a camera and ask them to power it up and shoot something at our office. The reasons are obvious.

They’re Sony. Wanted to wait but had a big job come up. The Super Bowl is here this week and all of our cameras are out. Had to take what I could get. I saw where the BeBob folks have a box that mounts under the camera and accepts IDX v-mounts. They could certainly last a while. Having hauled Anton 140s around for the past 5 years, these batteries are a blessing. And I could use a blessing once in a while.
On the 450 minute thing, that slipped down to around 360 minutes after being turned on for a short while. And, speaking of “overcharging”, I thinks that’s what happened when we got the bill.
The footage on a card thing still spooks my but it’s very cool to be able to dump a clip before moving on to take two. We still don’t have post capabilities. I’ve got FCP 6 coming as well as Leopard.
