I asked the Sony reps this exact thing last year (all 3 questions)and was promised that someone would “get back to me”.
John Sharaf seems to have some valuable connections with Sony as he is in the LA area.
I will corner Mr. Patel this year and ask again. Our point man at Sony used to be Jeff Cree, but he has moved over to BandPro.

Please consider this a formal apology for the April Fools Day joke.
I get a lot of private e-mails from people who cannot post on the forum for one reason or another, be it their job, executive position or whatever. When I get enough of them, I speak up for them. So basically, I work as the messenger.
As for the Multibridge, why not scroll down and look for our inquiries and you’ll see that they are unanswered. If I would have gotten an answer at that time, it would have stopped there. Sometimes you have to light a fire under someone to get them to say ouch or to say anything at all. Being nice about it got us nowhere.
By the way, Dalen, I see that your COW profile is empty. What’s up with that?

Thank you very much, Matt. We just want to know that everything is coming along as fast as we know BMD wants it. After all, you have a lot more to gain from delivery of the product than each of us do.
Grant Petty has created a line of fantastic products at a price point that has brought several other companies to their knees. A great product at a fair price. What more could you ask for? You have a very loyal following and it needs to stay that way. The more people you have promoting your product, the less time and money you have to spend on doing the same. Our production company does not advertise. Our customers do it for us.
We are very anxiously looking forward to delivery of our Multibridge.
We plan to upgrade from an HD card to a HD-PRO card as soon as possible.See you at NAB!

By the way, I am a forum leader on several other forums and people have been e-mailing me about the Multibridge with the same complaints. I just happen to be a bit more verbal than most politically correct or polite individuals.

If you’ll look down through this forum, we have been telling everyone to buy a deck. At least I have, on a regular basis.
Sorry about your damaged unit but did you really need to ask this question?
JVC makes a low priced dual deck with DV and S-VHS, Sony, Panny and JVC all have small decks. I would buy one with a monitor.
ALSO, it make sense to run a firewire down to a deck if you are recording a long program, like a stage show and record to the deck instaed of your camera.
THE SMARTEST THING would be to purchase a FS-4 and use it instead of tape whenever possible. A good camera will last forever. The tape transport inside is a very delicate device. Save it, please.

I guess that the idea is to do the changing in a controlled environment. We’re in dusty Arizona and most often, we do the lens change either indoors or in a vehicle. The entire process of actually changing the lens takes all of about 4 seconds. However, I was changing one once and a mouse ran in past the filter wheel and it took 20 minutes to shake his little butt out of there. Haven’t had a problem with dust though. It wouldn’t hurt to give the lens area a shot of canned air to blow out the dust and mouse hairs.
On the serious side, before changing any lens, blow out the areas around where the lens mounts before taking anything loose.
