It may interest everyone to know that Panasonic’s new 200 camera which records “HD” to P2 will have a capacity of 8 minutes of “HD” on each card. John is correct, as always, tape will be around for a long time to come.

That’s because the DVX100 does not actually record a 24p sequence.

Do you realize that the 950 is not a cancorder and requires a separate recorder? Tis is a rather complex venture and we’d want to all be on the same page before going through the equipment list process.

Sorry I missed this earlier, Leo. I was just taking a little stab at you Varicam guys. We use our on-camera mic when we’re doing corporate interviews and we need to hear the questions without running a mic cable.

Did Panasonic keep the price down by leaving some of the parts off? This sounds like one of JVC’s maneuvers, not Panasonic’s.
