What is the easiest way to turn off the power stand-by mode? I have a project this weekend where i will be using the camera for projection purposes only.

In the menus: Other functions -> Tape Protect.

Don’t any of you read the manual? This has been asked a hundred times.

HET DUDE!!! Some of us purchased this spectacular camera used, and unfortunately mine did not come with the “LITTLE BOOK”. If you can’t be helpful, which is the point for these forums I thought, then don’t post at all. thanks everyone else for the advice, the shoot went flawlessly.

You can download a manual from Panasonic.com for future reference. Pretty well everything they have ever made has a downloadable pdf manual.

Don’t take it personally Steve S. We were all rookies once. 🙂

Being a rookie is no problem. I just hope when I get more experience under my belt, I will be willing to “help” the rookies out without being a jerk, ya know? Everybody needs help at some point. No harm done, just thought it was uncalled for.

Actually I have been on the Internet now for about 12 years. Boards have become much more civilized. Back then, along with LOL and ROTFLMAO, the most common acronym was RTFM.
