    Hello CowFolk.

I have the Panasonic 100A (and also the agdvc30) and they both make an odd noise that no one can figure out. When the cameras are turned off, and they are tilted forward there is a slight clink in the lense, but when the cameras are powered on this noise is not there.
I’d hate to take my camera into Panasonic (far away & I need my cameras) if this is normal. Does anyone else notice this with their cameras?

    Thanks.
    Cheers

Thats a normal noise. It is the stabilization system. Every DVX does this.

    Dont worry.

Isn’t this mentioned in the manual?

I couldn’t find it in the manual – asked the Panasonic rep plus the person at the service desk. Neither of them knew and recommended it go to Panasonic for service. It wasn’t until I got both the DVX100 and the DVC30 and noticed they both did this that either I broke both cameras, or it was something in the lense itself.

I’ve since purchased the DVX users manual & dvd from amazon.com and found it most helpful. One of the questions they address is “what’s that clunk” – guess is it s common question. 🙂

    Thanks for the help.
