Assuming you’re on OSX (you didn’t say):
There are multiple copies, actually. The extra one lies in the AE package on OSX. Ctrl-click on the AE app’s icon in the applications folder, then choose “show package contents”. The extra plug should be in the MacOS folder therein, in a “Plug-ins” folder.

Matchmoving starts off like AE, by tracking markers in the frame. Then comes the clever part: based on certain reference points that you set, the computer calculates a “3D solution”, where the markers’ positions are translated into a 3D world. Depending on the points tracked and your reference points, this can go smoothly or not.

One way is to move the footage up or down one pixel in the comp. Don’t worry about the resulting thin black line at the edge of the comp — it should be outside safe area, yes?

This process is often called matchmoving, but AE can’t do what you need. The least expensive app for this is called Syntheyes, and it’s getting good reviews.

If you’re on Windows, Windows Media is good. In Quicktime, compressing to Sorenson Pro 3 using Sorenson Squeeze is good.
The problem with H.264 is that your audience needs QT 7 to play the clip.
At any rate, try 320×240, 15 fps, maybe 150 KB/sec. You’ll have to test to get the best comporomise. For more info, I recommend COW’s Compression forum.

No more than if you ask your talent to stand on the wall instead of the floor.
If you think about it, your camera will just see an image and not care whether it’s right side up, sideways, or a shapeless blob.
Now if you shot DVCPRO50, with a higher data rate, that might make a difference.

Did you try F12, C, CC, CCC or shift+C? Check the help under “keyboard shortcuts>keys for using 3D animation”.

Did you try searching the COW posts for “fire”? This question comes up every now and then.

Have you searched the COW posts? Try using “directshow” as a search term.
Your source footage is what codec? MP3s and DivX doesn’t work, if I recall. Sorenson files as source footage can cause erros as well.
Does the error happen on the same frame? If so, it could be a plugin that is causing the problem at that frame.
Have Task Manager open when rendering. If it shows that you’re maxing out your RAM, open the “secret” prefs. Search the COW on “secret”.
