    Hi,
I need to compress a 30 second piece of uncompressed video (250megs of .avi) so it can fit on the web and can be played through quicktime. Does anyone have any ideas for some good output settings in AE? I have Quicktime 7 Pro so I thought the H.264 codec might be the best option.
    Thanks

If you’re on Windows, Windows Media is good. In Quicktime, compressing to Sorenson Pro 3 using Sorenson Squeeze is good.

The problem with H.264 is that your audience needs QT 7 to play the clip.

At any rate, try 320×240, 15 fps, maybe 150 KB/sec. You’ll have to test to get the best comporomise. For more info, I recommend COW’s Compression forum.
