All that can exist in AE’s 3D world is flat planes. That’s it. Each layer is a flat plane.
When you apply a 3D-like effect such as Shatter or 3D stroke to a layer, you are creating a “movie” of a 3D effect that “plays” on that flat layer. In cases where the 3D effect has a “comp camera” control, AE changes how that 3D movie looks, by cleverly tying the effect’s camera motion to AE’s camera motion.
That’s why you should leave the layer as a 2D layer: so the viewer can see it “flat-on” and the illusion is maintained. Otherwise you’ll see an angled flat screen, and the illusion is lost.
To re-phrase: 3D objects with depth cannot exist in AE. Unless you take a bunch of those flat planes and construct an object out of them.

Invigorator can only recognize an Illustrator file with vector paths. The best, if not only way is to create it in illustrator.
Your logo is so simple, you can import it into Illustrator, then just use the pen tool to draw lines (on a new layer) that match the shape of the logo. Then you delete the layer containing the original logo.
It takes a little practice, but drawing with bezier tools is a necessary skill for AE as well as Illustrator. Actually, you could have done it by now, rather than spend time waiting for a response from us. 🙂
