Hey guys!

Okay…so I created shapes for a logo in Vector Paint, transfered it into Photoshop to put all the logo together to form a nice *.jpeg image of my logo. Now I take it in Adobe Illustrator CS, save it as a Illustrator File, export it un Zaxwerks Invigorator, and *hop*, no vector paths. Oups, forgot. Of course, I didn’t do the logo in Illustrator, ’cause I know very little with Illustrator. So it’s pretty logical that there is no vector paths on it.

So, my question is, can I create or use a logo, and export it into Illustator to add vector paths (or anything else) to use it in 3D in Invigorator?! Is there a better way to do that? Do I really have to make my logo in Illustrator? Any help?!

I tried (in Photoshop) to export the file as Illustrator paths…didn’t worked. Open as layers, save it as layers, save it in a transparent background…nothings seems to work.

Could anybody help me out here?!

Thx a lot guys!

*COW rulz, you rulz…do I rule?*

[Justin Productions] “Do I really have to make my logo in Illustrator?”

Well, essentially, yes, although you can follow the design process in any vector-based tool. The easiest way, based on what you’ve said, may be to import the existing image into Illustrator and trace it with paths.

I can’t quite work out if you’ve grasped the concept of vector art from your post, nor do I understand your existing workflow. You designed the logo in Vector Paint – is that an application, or do you mean AE Vector Paint? Why don’t you design the logo directly in Illustrator? Why did you convert your original design to JPEG (which is a non-vector image format), and why did you pass through Photoshop on the way to Illustrator?

Perhaps if you could post a pic of the logo it may be easier to recommend a plan of action.

Here’s my logo:

Upload Video and Images – Putfile

I created this in Paint (Windows Application) to form the “ears” and the roundy shape at the buttom only because I was more familiar with this program. Than I ressembled the “ears” and all the rest in Photoshop and etc. Should I have created my logo in Photoshop? Or Illustrator? Or do I really have to trace it with the paths?

Thx again.

Invigorator can only recognize an Illustrator file with vector paths. The best, if not only way is to create it in illustrator.

Your logo is so simple, you can import it into Illustrator, then just use the pen tool to draw lines (on a new layer) that match the shape of the logo. Then you delete the layer containing the original logo.

It takes a little practice, but drawing with bezier tools is a necessary skill for AE as well as Illustrator. Actually, you could have done it by now, rather than spend time waiting for a response from us. 🙂

Check the AI manual for details.

…make sure you save your illustrator file out as ver. 8.
That seems to be the only version that Invigorator will tolerate from me.
