The way you are using Vegas nesting and as you put it, motion within motion,
You are gonna do experience some lag, not much you can do to avoid that.

Just double check if you have GPU enabled in Vegas, if you do,
disable it and do another render and see.

Very important you keep your eyes on that button when keyframing.
It can mess things up a bit also sometimes when enabled and you are
