  • Anybody running Vegas on two computers with different versions of Windows? (7 &10 in this case)

I pulled the trigger and bought a powerful laptop so I could so some editing (mostly isolating seperate scenes, then color and brightness/contrast corrections as needed on those scenes) in Vegas when I am away from my home workstation, which is also where I happen to have a lot of time to do those things.

My laptop has Windows 10, my home station is Windows 7 Pro. I’m using Vegas 13 Pro.

    Any compatability issues?

I know I will have to either make the locations similar (same drives/folders, etc) or when I transfer the source files and .veg files over, overwrite the older ones.

Any tips in keeping that process straight and easy would be appreciated also.

    Thank you

I don’t see why you wold have any problems. As long as both computers have the same 3rd party plug-ins everything should work fine. Vegas Pro 13 supports both Windows 10 and Windows 7 and there aren’t may differences between the operating systems except the UI.

Dont think you will run into any compatibility issues Bruce.
If you do, it will be something you can quickly rectify.

    Thank you both.

If I do, and can’t figure it out, I’m sure I’ll be back here looking for a nudge.

    For what it’s worth ….

I run Vegas Pro 10e on a current Dell desktop running Windows 10 and on an old MacBook Pro under Boot Camp running XP.

Swap between them with no probs.

That’s correct, even older Vegas versions runs smoothly on

Just an FYI, I had an issue with Sony Vegas 12 files saved in Win7 opened up in Win10.

The Video Media Generators “Sony Titles & Text” didn’t hold its position on the screen, the layout was off. Luckily, opening those .veg files in Vegas 13 fixed that problem.
