First, try carry out a re-installation maintenance. and let me know if it helps or not.
Method: Go to….C:/Program Files/Sony Setup/Vegas 7.0
Then press “vegas07_enu” and follow the instructions to
carry out maintenance.

Motion Judder is when movements (motion) in the video is slightly
stuttered…like a fast stop and go motion

And yes Mercalli for video stabilization which is completely different from motion judder…works with SD, HDV and HD files,
the ‘expert’ version i should say.

That sounds like the files are corrupted…try restarting the
computer and see, or if those media uses a codec you can install, try reinstalling the codec.

Yes,Mercalli is one of the best image stabilization tool around, i have it for sony vegas and it blows my mind how simple and effective this stabilization software is, but remember shaky images and motion judder are two completely different things.

That then is a different story…you then have to work with what
you got. OK, here is the thing, if your footage cost you an arm and a leg, then its worth spending $145 to save it, The best tool i think may help is “DVFilm Maker” over at ‘dvfilm.com’.

This for me, is my holy grail to give video a film look. It does a lot more like smooth fluid motion, de-interlacing and frame rate conversions, all with absolutely flawless results.

SO, Try the demo first on a portion of the most juddered clip,
with several tweakings and settings…etc…
because this will tell you if it will produce the fluid motion you seek (the demo works just like the full version).
And then let me know the results, because i could give a few
more pointers.

I agree with John. Motion judder is almost impossible to perfect in
post. I know of no known solution to create fluid motion from
motion judder.
Personally, whenever iam working and comes across juddered content,
i discard it and come up with alternatives or go out and re-shoot.

No, your question is not complicated. What you are refering to is masking, which vegas Pro does well (iam not sure about MS8).
You simply click the little box on the edge of the video clip to open
the ‘event pan/crop’ window…at the bottom of this window, you
will see “mask”…tick the empty box to enable it, then all the tools
will appear on the left for you to begin drawing and manipulating
your mask.

Just feel your way around and in no time you will get the hang of it.
