Vegas can actually run flawlessly on the skimpiest of any
PC’s…the minimum requirements is listed on the site.
Its that AVCHD format that is probably causing the crash.
Does it crashes when handling any other format?

Because AVCHD is a very highly compressed format, and needs
more processing power when editing…..i would suggest for you to
get an HDV Camcorder instead, can be HDD or tape based.

Yes, your pc can handle that processing, although your
graphics card has no effect when using Vegas.

And i would not advise you to get an HDD camcorder that uses
the AVCHD format. AVCHD can get a bit tricky on you, no
need to complex the issue.

Whats the bad result you get with the slow motion
and panning?
You can only go that slow with regular footage, slowing
that down anywhere below 50% will result in juddering.

When you import the image sequence or when you right click
and bring up the media properties….did you change the
alpha channel to straight (unmatted) or premultiplied? etc.

If you see pixels, that means your source footage that you
worked with was somewhat of low quality/(resolution),
Or due to too much compression for several reasons.

What format were the project files in and what was the source?
also how did you play it back on the TV.

The snapshot you take from Vegas
is a low resolution image….Panning and such
is not gonna often yield a pleasing result.
