Turning on Loop should make the shorter clip match the duration of your comp. You could then just send an end keyframe wherever you want it to end.

  • Is your container set to 2D Composite or 3DModel?

Right, but you can also run Streamclip using Quicktime Alternative, and that’s what we’re doing. I’m thinking getting the QT MPEG add-on will cover us.

I haven’t checked specific fonts yet, but this PC also runs Avid Media Composer and Photoshop and they haven’t been acting odd.

Two of the new fonts added were needed to properly open a .psd, but to my knowledge they aren’t the ones causing RED to crash. I don’t think it gets that far down the list before dying.

I’m on version 3, so no smooth-tone for me.

I used to use 1:2:1, but now I think it softens images and graphics too much for my tastes.

Motion blur really jacks up the render times, but I suppose any blur filtering will do that.

As far as large files goes, I’d prefer to just load it and go – not sure that many AE folks bother with resizing unless the files are absolutely huge and they’re working with an old system or something.

  • Has the font management changed any since ver. 3? I tend to break fonts down into separate categories (serif, san serif, etc.) but when I want to add new fonts, I’m forced to rebuild the entire category and then begin the tedious process of deleting the ones I don’t want to keep.

RED being able to scan the OS font directory and comparing it against it only newly added fonts would be nice, thus not forcing a total rebuild each time.

Yeah, there’s no way my employer’s going to spring for any more RED upgrades. Thanks though.

Shoot, you’re right. I thought it was A62 work.

The mention of A62 makes me think of Charlex and The Cars “You Might Think” music video.
