Would it be possible to export the transition from FX and include a matte key? That way the editor can import those into the Avid project and utilize them on the timeline as Avid media clips.

Yeah, that could be a problem. If the FX clip is rendered on the timeline, even changing location of the source file won’t undo that until you go in to change a parameter. If you create an image folder on the Unity partition itself, at least you’ll always know where to point FX when it goes asking to relink.

It’s the latter. Move the image file and the FX link is broken.

I suppose that’s where you could work in crowd sourcing. Users generate tutorials, community votes on their usefulness, winner gets rewarded somehow. The reward stimulates users to put more effort into generating better tutorials.

  • Folks probably need a little more detail on your problem before they can even begin to address it.

You’re running Red or Avid FX? Does it have anything under Edit>Preferences>Export Tab?

I’m on 3.0.4 so perhaps the interface has changed.

When you add your comp to the Render Queue you get the Movie Export Settings menu, which has a Fields drop down. From there, you select None.

Wouldn’t that mean you set it to No Fields for render?

Could you post that guide as a downloadable link from here using Cow’s file upload feature?

Kinda sounds like the three elements aren’t all in the same 3D Container. Also sounds like you need to adjust the Position Z for the text to make sure it’s not physically occupying the same 3D space as the circle. Unless you alter both that and the extrusion depth, the text will usually “disappear” within the circle object. Positive value for the front, negative value for the back.

I’ll try to attach a Red 3.0.4 project that hopefully illustrates what I’m talking about. Adjust the Spin Y of the 3D Container to 90 degrees and then adjust the Position Z of either text track to see how it either sinks or rises above the wedge object.
