I’m not in front of a system right now and I use Red instead of FX, but in addition to having the motion blur tab on for your various timeline tracks, there’s a small icon (looks like several squares stacked diagonally) that has to be checked on for it to work. HTH.

Answering my own question, I see Textured Rays has been added to version 6. We’re only running 2.2.10 of Media Composer, so it doesn’t appear the trial download will be compatible.

We’ve already got version 3 of BCC AVX on Media Composer. Was access to Textured Rays added since then?

That’s what I was doing – using Light Zoom in Red 3 to try and emulate BCC Rays Textured that I was using in Avid as Continuum AVX V3. Are you saying Rays Textured should be showing up in the filter list in Red 3? I don’t see it. Would be very nice if it did.

Motion Blur warps it into something looking like a fun house mirror due to the camera shake. It seems a combination of Temporal and Rays Radiant Edges gets me close enough. Thanks.

Use your OS to search your drives for files with a .lck (lock) extension and delete them.

That sounds like a possible wrong graphics card driver version. Avid doesn’t necessarily support the most recent driver that NVIDIA, Matrox, etc. puts out for their cards.

My pie-in-the-sky wish is for Quicktime to have a built-in 601/RGB flag that any compatible NLE could read and properly interpret…

I’d love to have it confirmed as I deal with numerous FCP people who either don’t have a clue what I’m talking about when I say we prefer to receive 601 files or don’t even bother to ID their files as such, making my job more of a PITA when importing their stuff into MCA.
