Chances are that Premiere Pro doesn’t support the codec used to capture the footage. You should be using DV AVI Type 2.

If you render the timeline, then export to a DV AVI, you might be able to put that AVI on a new sequence and export that to MPEG2. But why you would use the generic is a mystery. Other than putting it on a DVD with MPEG2-DVD, I can’t think of a reason to use MPEG2.

Nobody who beta tests can say anything, and I haven’t seen anything in the announcements that indicate that there will be a render que like After Effects. I think they would have shouted that from the treetops in their documents if that had been done.

I don’t expect that linking from Premiere Pro to After Effects is a high priority. After Effects to Premiere Pro is important but the other way around indicates a workflow I would not personally use, but I suppose someone might.

Then there may be a problem with some of your media. Move the media files to a different directory and then start Premiere Pro. When you open the project, just tell it where the first clip is and not all of the rest. Then just start linking them back in one at a time until the Peak file gives you trouble again.

Or, perhaps it would be better to start a new project and import every media file in one at a time.

I believe that some of the packages are ready, so it may be possible that the Web bundle could be released earlier than bundles with Premiere Pro.

The Peak file is what Premiere Pro uses to generate the waveform. Doublecheck where you put all of your scratch files and make sure the drive is not anywhere near full. Also defragment it now and then.

Premiere Pro CS3 supports Vista 32 bit and there will be a public beta in a few weeks.

Perhaps you are choosing Upper Field First when it should be Lower Field First?

Or, perhaps you just need to deinterlace every clip on the sequence manually by seting the frame options to Always Deinterlace.

I would use 8MB CBR if it fits.
