I just drag and drop audio the same way I do for video. But make sure that if you are dragging stereo, you drop to stereo. It will not drop on mon or 5.1.

Also, I generally copy instead of drag so I can assemble on another track. But you could do the opposite and just drag stuff you don’t need out of your way.

It sounds dangerous. You want to be able to extend a clip over other clips? Hmmm. Like I said, it sounds dangerous.

I generally have all of the clip audio in audio track one. Added audio (like music or voiceovers) in track two. And any other audio, like modified clip audio, down in track three. I usually turn off track one audio. So if the audio is not copied down to track three, the clip audio is not in the way in the first place.

So I guess I never noticed that it could or could not be done your way.

Perhaps I am confused as to what you are looking for, but why not simply drag the audio to a lower track, drag it to the duration you want, and then drag it back up? It will overwrite the other audio. No need to delete it.

The trouble is, as has been said before, those who know can not say, and those who say either can not know, or are untrustworthy because they broke their NDA. So if they lie to Adobe, do you trust them?

Nobody is trying to pull a fast one. But if you really want to know, watch the European press. They seem to break the news before anyone else for a reason I do not understand.

Just import the project into a project with proper settings. The old project will be in a bin in the new one’s project window.

You can not change the settings, but you can import into a new project with the correct settings.
