Is your camera fully supported in Premiere Pro? Perhaps the camera will not allow the shuttle’s interface, or Premiere Pro just does not know how.

The are very similar. I copied the FCP tutorials to do the Premiere Pro tutorials for https://www.lynda.com and the end result was pretty much the same, even accounting for the fact that the FCP guy is more talented than I am.

Marker > Set Clip Marker
You should be able to mark your sequence using the asterisk key on the numeric keyboard, and then mark your clips, then match up the sequence markers and the clip markers as needed.

Not yet, no. I suggest that you put in a feature request. I seldom use on-camera sound, and it is just a section of the hard drive that really is wasted.

It depends on what codecs you have on your system, but you could probably use Cinepak successfully.
