Performance problem
I’m importing an AVI file into Premiere to do some simple editing. The performance is very bad. I keep my project file on the C drive and my AVI files on the D drive. The refresh rate of the frames on the timeline is very slow and it takes a long time between my hitting Enter and the movie playing on the display window. I re-installed Premiere but that didn’t help. I’m wondering. I got these avi files by ripping DVDs created by a professional shop from family videos. I used a DivX511Bundle codec to rip the DVD. When I edit a video that I captured from a Mini DV tape, on the same timeline, it works fine. But as soon as I move to the segment ripped from the DVD, the performance is terrible.
