It is certainly easier in AE. But yes, you could use a 16 point garbage matte to animate a track matte. And then blur the heck out of it to get softer edges. It would require nested sequences. But yes, you could do it in Premiere Pro.

Yes, there is a modifier key for making a delete into a ripple delete. Modifier keys are your friends. Assume they are there and find them when you can.

This time, the answer is found by using the Shift key when you press the Delete key.

The fastest way to cut os to set up a new bin, put the clips into the source window, set the in and out points and grab the video back to the project window into the new bin. When they are all in the bin, use “Automate to Sequence” to put them all on a sequence with the default transition.

Then take that sequence and nest it into another so you can time stretch it into a slow motion state.

I suggest that you get some training and really dig into the application if you are going to use it a lot.

It may be missing from the Sony OEM version. I believe what they call Premiere Standard 7.0 is simply a cut down version of Premiere Pro. At least that what it sounds like from other comments on the forum. Or maybe it is just the demo version.

But yes, the “real” version has DVD export.

Theoretically, this can be done exactly the way you describe, and then you use the project manager to trim the project, thereby creating true subclips using the new names. I have had troubles with this because the project manager recognizes that the clips are contiguous. But give it a try – the Project Manager is only in Premiere Pro version 1.5 and higher.

The transition and titles will not copy over, but you could copy the clips right off of the PPro 1.5 timeline and paste them into the timeline of an AE 6.5 comp.

Or, you could open the PPro project in AE.

You could use a split screen created by a garbage matte, and put a white matte under the pic. So basically you key out the black and it shows the white.

They didn’t remove it. It was never in Premiere Pro. It was in a different program. Premiere. Not the same at all. Written from scratch with a new codec and new sequences. The same old titler perhaps, but almost everything else was new.
