  • query re difference between ‘Premiere’ and ‘Premiere Pro’

I have just tried the ‘Premiere’ program bundled with my new Sony. A great program and my first NLE attempt! I have had fn but I cannot burn to DVD straight from the timeline menu. There is no burn to DVD option but just export to movie. Is this burn to DVD feature missing on the standard Premiere and do I need to upgrade to Pro for this?
    Thanks

It may be missing from the Sony OEM version. I believe what they call Premiere Standard 7.0 is simply a cut down version of Premiere Pro. At least that what it sounds like from other comments on the forum. Or maybe it is just the demo version.

But yes, the “real” version has DVD export.

I have a Sony Vaio, that came with Premiere 6.5 LE from the factory. LE was almost full featured, but it didn’t have the Burn to DVD. That’s why I removed it, and added Premiere Pro 1.0. I am now up to PPro 1.5.1.
