I have a black costume that I want to convert to white.
Can this be done in PP ?

    For example, here’s a perfect picture I found: blackwhite.jpg

Can I use PP tools (or anything else) to convert the black side to look like the white side ?
It doesn’t have to exactly match, just be white, as the costume I use is all black.

A different alternative is to find a seamstress and have her sew a costume out of while fabric.
But I wonder if it’s possible (or easier) to use some PP features to alter the color.

You could use a split screen created by a garbage matte, and put a white matte under the pic. So basically you key out the black and it shows the white.

I might try to take the image and place it on V1 and put a copy of it above on V2. Take the image on V2 and apply Effects>Channel>Invert to it. Then place a Luminance key on it. If necessary, place the “Brightness and Contrast” Effect in between the “Invert” and “Luminance Key” in the list for image adjustments to tweak the key if it isn’t exactly right.

If the image you showed was the image, it should be fine, if the background is black instead of white…things could get hairy.

    thanks,

the background will be dark, not white, but I guess I can use a green screen.. something to try. Or just sew another cloak.
