I have no idea why you would want to assign multiple keys to the same function. Would mind explaining? As far as I can tell, it is not possible, and I have never heard anyone ask for it before.
If you explained the Avid functions, perhaps we could help. If it means automatically assign heads and tails, there is not automation for that outside of “Automate to Sequence”.

I imagine you can unlink the video in the project window, and then relink it to the color version.

Not that I know of. No. Sorry. I would love to see it though. Because when I finish a HDV project, I need a M2T file for my Linkplayer, and a WM9 file for the web. Why not have them both taken care of while I sleep?

I originally thought I had dirty heads, or bad tapes, or something, because I would often get pixelization using 1.5.1
When I switched to doing it in two steps, the problem went away. I thought my PC was good enough, but I am suspicious of it now.
