Perhaps there is not enough room to conform the audio. 2GB of storage isn’t enough in the scheme of things to count for much. You need a LOT more than that for almost anything.

If you really want to edit the M2T file, you can get the MainConcept plugin.
However, the change from M2T to Cineform is practically lossless. And the conversion back is very clean.
I suggest you try it out and decide for yourself. It also depends on how you plan to distribute it. If it will be played back directly from the camrea, it might be noticeable if you look really hard. If you are going to do anything else, it probably will not be noticed.

Copy the audio track and put the copy on a separate track. Fill Right on one, and Fill Left on the other. That will put both audio tracks on Left and Right.

There is no way to do it with one copy of the clip. Rather than export the clip and use a still, you can put another instance of the clip after the first one, and set it to hold on the last frame. Adjust the duration by adjusting the head, not the tail.

It is grayed out? At what size. Perhaps you could create a new DV project, set the size to “Fit”, close that project and open up your HDV project. It should be set to “Fit”.

You can not do that. Buy a program to do it for you, like ImTooDVD Ripper. Or, you can possibly change the file extension to .mpg and purchase the MainConceot MPEG plugin. It is cheaper to convert them.
