You can make the cut using the Shift key with the razor – that cuts them all at once. Once you cut at the in point and the out point, you can use the select tool to select everything you want to delete. Then use Shift-Delete (Ripple Delete).
There is no way to select all of the tracks in order to make them all the selected track for an Extract or Lift.

Are you sure the audio didn’t go down to a track that you can’t see without scrolling. It is not possible to have sound without actually having an audio track.

Well, I thought I should mention that Bridge is quite useful if you are inclined to change the meta data of clips you are importing into a project before you import them. That way, more of the columns in the project window become useful.

Well, it is useless for what you wanted to do with it, yes. It does make a good placeholder. And that’s about all I can think of to do with it.

Sorry, not preferences. Project Settings in the General tab. Scale Clips … it is a check box.

Use the Motion Effect’s Scale parameter. Or, you can set a preference to always scale the clips to the project’s frame size.
