I am puzzled by Premiere Pro’s seeming inability to Export to Tape. I am trying to write back a M2T file to the SONY HC1, but the “export to tape” remains grayed out. Initial capture works fine and the software seems to be using device control but when I look at my recorded tape, it remains blank.

I an new to HDV. Am i missing something simple. I have tried rendering the timeline, then exporting. Same thing.

You might want to try downloading the free trial of Cineform Aspect HD 4.0 – I believe it works fine with the HC1.

I have a Z1U and can’t get export to tape to work on my camera either….no help from anyone, including Adobe so far. Steve, your suggestion about Cineform 4.0 is well founded, but I downloaded the trial version of 4.0……..no luck. I have not found an answer to this yet, and it basically makes my camera unusable, as that’s the only was to record back into HDV. Very very frustrating!!!

Have you tried just writing a M2T back to tape using HDLink? (included with Aspect HD)
