If you don’t have proof of purchase, and you don’t have your serial number, then this will be a problem with any software provider.

You feel that registration implies that Apple will maintain a database for serial numbers and purchase dates, but Apple feels that this is your responsibility to maintain this information.

If this difference of opinion makes you want to discontinue your business with Apple, then you should do that.

If there are also other issues with Apple that bother you, then this may weight your decision one way or the other.

Too high a level of anxiety may be unhealty, though. You should weigh the expense of an additional license against the stress on your body. You may find that there is a solution which, though not making you completely happy, resolves the issue and allows you to get back to your creative work.

I’m not sure I understand what you’re trying to do.

What stage of the production are you in, and what process is Fotokem going to do with the information you give them?

I think the closest to this would be:

Select the clip in the timeline. With the location marker on the clip, select Mark clip (x).

Then select match frame to pull up the original clip (for this timeline clipp) in the viewer (f) with in out markers.

Then in the viewer, drag the in or out markers to make it shorter or longer as desired.

Then drag from the viewer to the canvas to Fit to Fill back to the marked clip space in the timeline.

So you’ve “kind of” dragged the edge of the clip to change it’s speed.

You can work with audio in Subframe.

Open a clip in the viewer and zoom all the way in on the audio. Hold down the shift key while dragging the playhead within the duration of a single video frame. When you set the new edit point, the audio slips by fractions of a frame (can get to 1/1000th of a frame).

You must not have a clip selected, or this will move the selected clip forward 10 frames.

How about using Carbon Copy Cloner to make a copy of the same directory structure?

When you’re done, you could even rename the new drive with the old drives name (after removing the old drive). Then all files will be in the same directory structure as they ever were.
