ok so my past experience with AVID is coming out here. i’ve done a search but couldn’t come up with any answers, can somebody help me out?

is there any way to assign a key stroke to advance 10 frames? the whole shift arrow moving an entire second is driving me nuts.

I just type in +10 (real easy on the keypad if you have extended keyboard).

You must not have a clip selected, or this will move the selected clip forward 10 frames.

yes that would work but unfortunately that is 3 key strokes and sometimes i’m cutting on my laptop. i’m looking for a way to map it or redefine the distance that ‘shift left arrow’ moves

That’s not a user definable option. You can still use the +10 on a laptop without the extended keyboard.

    All the best,

You can always install QuicKeys on your mac, and map a shortcut that way…

I too love the 10 frame advance in the Avid, now with FCP I love the one second forward, when you hold shift and hit the arrow key. I miss that in Avid.
