I recommend heavy duty extension cords from another circuit.

It might help, because I’ve been taking material off a Firestore in FCP 6 and it’s working fine. Not sure of the software version, but it does work.
Make sure you’re following the correct procedure, as there is a “organize P2” that needs to be done on the drive before connecting to the computer.

Yeah, I think I was doing it right. This is an inherited project, so I don’t know for sure if the tags are really on the footage. Also, they installed the old Frame Rate Converter from Panasonic, so that may have nixed something to keep the built in FRC from working.
For now, I’m using 40% speed effect. Thanks for the advice.

If it’s just for your own entertainment, why don’t you write your own music in Garage Band?
If the music is good, maybe it will have commercial value, and you can sell and license it to others.
It’s your intellectual property, so shouldn’t you be able to benefit from its use? I hope that it is really great music, and that no one steals it from you, denying you the value of your own creation.

There’s only so much bandwidth on the bus, so you can only push a limited amount of graphical information, and the card can only process so much on its GPU.
The speed of light still limits things to physical reality.

When you go to the Apple store, the first thing listed for Mac Pro video cards is NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT 256 MB.
The next choice is 2 x NVIDIA GeForce 7300 for $149 more.
This means you are buying two of them.
The 3 x means you are buying 3 of them.
Each one adds about $150 to the price.

I think you could use 21.33 as the frames per foot, and get very close to the right numbers.
If you digitized everything, then you could export a Cinema Tools list of everything, sort by the keycodes, identify the complete shots you used, and then the first frame of the NEXT shot – 1 would be your end frame.
This would only work if you brought everything into the Cinema Tools database, and not selects.

You’re confusing two different ideas: whether it is legal, and whether you will be prosecuted.
While it’s unlikely that you will be prosecuted, that does not mean it is legal.

The only way this will happen is if you contact your national legislators. Otherwise, the industry lobby will prevail as it has so completely the last few years.
