Actually, to get 32 frames on each side you would need a 64 frame transition.

One way to get 32 frame handles on each cut would be to place a 32 frame transition at each cut, just for the sake of the lists.
Otherwise, I thought Cinema Tools only allowed up to 5-1/2 frames for cut handles.

I’m suprised the press release didn’t mention the drive subsytem, with Apple pairing up with Atto for an acceleration card.
Of course, they named it Mac E Atto.

Did you link each record in Cinema Tools to the quicktime file that is the master clip in Final Cut Pro?
This is where the connection is made between the two programs. Final Cut tells the Cinema Tools database which quicktimes are used in the sequence. Cinema Tools looks up the frames used from the quicktime file it is linked to (connected to), and from its database of keycodes calculates the frames used in the edit and creates a list.

Timing is probably provided within the camera by quartz crystal oscillators. Power supply voltage variation and aging, as well as temperature, can affect the crystal.
Perhaps the camera uses a separate circuit for audio clocking, and in one camera it has drift. This probably doesn’t help your situation, but it might accout for the phenomena.
I would suspect whichever camera is older as being the more likely culprit.

Quartz crystals are shown to exhibit discontinuities in the frequency vs. temperature, or reactance vs. temperature characteristics of a crystal which may cause the frequency of the oscillation to shift or stop completely under a particular combination of temperature and voltage, in otherwise normally functioning units.

Someone might have a better idea, but you could put all your audio in a bin, make sure the Audio column is showing, export a batch list, global replace to change all the “2 Mono” in the batch list to “1 Stereo”, reimport the batch list, and try to reconnect to the clips.

If you are hooked up via component video (3 cables) I would think the cables are not connected to the correct inputs on the TV.

You might try running disk utility, and see if the illegal name shows up there.

Just out of curiosity, were your initial capture of media short clips, or did you capture very long sections of media (say an entire tape?)
Were you cutting to your sequence from the master clips, or from subclips?
