I believe the 250 with the 3MOS will work fine. If you are following the action, you shouldn’t notice any jellocam. Keep your cameras on tripods or other support devices and you should be good to go.

You should be able to use both USB 3 ports on the new MBP. Definitely test it before you buy.

It looks like only the 2.6 GHz has the option to upgrade the flash memory from 512GB to 768GB (Jim asked me earlier today) and Processor from 2.6 to 2.7.

Go into your computers System Preferences and select Keyboard. Check where it says Use all F1, F2, etc.as standard function keys.

Do not use Export Using QuickTime Conversion. Let Compressor do the work for you.
Export a QuickTime Movie and drop that file into Compressor. Find a preset that matches the setting you want and export.

I believe it’s unreasonable expectations. If you were using a higher end monitor, you will notice a big difference.

I use the V-LCD70XP-3GSDI with connected via HD-SDI with my 500, 250 and 170 with great results.

If FMC isn’t an option, then your best option is to buy Symphony for $995.
Purchase Avid for FCP users from Class On Demand. Media Composer 6 DVD coming soon. Both videos are done by Chicago’s very own Steve Hullfish.
There are also a few books available to teach you Avid.

FMC will give you the best education in the Chicago area.
