  • Marshall LCD50HDMI on HPX-250 : focus problem?

I don’t know if this is a problem or just unreasonable expectations on my part.

I”m using a Marshall LCD50HDMI monitor on my HPX250. It’s obvious that the Marshall monitor is soft when compared to the built in LCD on the camera. The Marshall is okay to hand to a client to watch what’s being recorded, but I’d rather use the built in monitor on the camera to focus with. The Peak Focus filter appears to work well, but the full color image just isn’t that sharp.

Same on playback as when looking at live image.

Anyone using this same combination of camera/monitor and finding a similar issue?

    Thanks….

I believe it’s unreasonable expectations. If you were using a higher end monitor, you will notice a big difference.

I use the V-LCD70XP-3GSDI with connected via HD-SDI with my 500, 250 and 170 with great results.

Thanks Steve. I know, you get what you pay for.

Still, not one review on the B&H website mentioned anything about soft focus, I think I’ll give Marshall a call and see what they say.
