With your DeckLink, you have two options.

1st. Stick with FCP 4.5 Decklink 4.8.1 Driver, QuickTime 6.5.2 and Mac OS 10.3.8
2nd Upgrade to FCP 5, OS 10.4, and update Decklink driver 5.0

Take all your markers and drag them into your timeline. Create a new bin or bins and drag the clips back to the bin/s. This creates subclips. If you subclip, each clip is created seperately. You can rename the subclips without harm. As far as organization, that is your best route to go.

If you just drag each of the markers into your timeline, each clip is still the ENTIRE clip you captured. If you rename the markers (Segment 1,2, 3, etc…, you are changing the entire clip. That is not good. All of your editing must be done on the timeline. If you do set edit points in the viewer window, those clips must go directly to the timeline. If you select another clip without adding your previous clip to the timeline, you will lose your in/out points.
