Your deck does not do DV50. You want DV NTSC 48k. Easy setup. Good luck.

You cannot change the compression of the QuickTime files.

If you use Raylight (https://www.dvfilm.com/raylight/mac/index.htm), you can work with the MXF files natively inside FCP.

Since you are not cropping the image by cutting off the top and bottom, you want to Distort the image. Look for the Distort tool.

It’s your video do what you want with it.

Next time you shoot, just frame your picture in a safe zone for letterbox and crop. Then your video won’t be distorted.
