I’m trying to compress my clip by using the image and wire feature in FCP. It seems to want to change all 4 corners no matter what I do. I just want to change the top and bottom with out cutting out the image.

I have looked in the motion tab and played around with the different values but no luck. I want to keep the original clips width but change the hight by 20 or 25 %.

When I use crop it cuts out the portion I’m adjusting. I tried just moving the top section and nothing happens. Anybody no which tab I’ve got to adjust?

    Thanks

Since you are not cropping the image by cutting off the top and bottom, you want to Distort the image. Look for the Distort tool.

It’s your video do what you want with it.

Next time you shoot, just frame your picture in a safe zone for letterbox and crop. Then your video won’t be distorted.

if you are wanting to “compress it” (you might actually mean squash), then you could try adjusting the Aspect Ratio (part of the distort section on the motion tab).
