DVCAM and MiniDV are the same DV format. The only you will notice is if you record in DVCAM format you will get 40 minutes on the tape. 60 minutes in DV mode.

You do not have to convert the clips to PAL. If she will be displaying the PP from her computer, the projector will default to the VGA setting.

I’m sorry but this solution WILL NOT work for you. The firewire port on the DVD Recorder is input only. Even if it has the capability of output, FCP would not recognize the source.

Your best solution is to find a used or new MiniDV camcorder with firewire and a/v input/outputs. Many are under $200.

The simple answer is Easy Setup. Select your sequence setting that matches how your video was shot. ie. 720p24, 1080i60.
