You got it all wrong. Rip your DVD from MPEG Streamclip and make a DV-NTSC (720×480) file. That’s what FCP likes.

If you have any colored lines, they must be fully rendered. Go render and mix down your audio.

If you shoot sports, then you know how valuable a long lens is. All the cameras you mentioned are camcorders that do not have good telephoto lenses.

I shoot with the HPX-500. There is no other full-size camera that can give you all the options you need to shoot with. The HPX-170 does give you all the options. There is a trade off with a shorter non-removable lens.

Get a camera that has all the options you need to cover the events effectively.
