Training – beyond FCP
While finishing training with FCP – I am looking forward to the best choices for training in other areas.
If one is going to pursue editing, what other training do you think would be best?
— After Effects?
— FCP Color, Motion…
— SoundAlso if I wanted to get move involved in color work, what would be the best way or product?
It’s a lot of questions I know.

Use your common sense and decide which will help you. There are a lot of options available between classes and books.

In answer to the first part of your question, which application to learn next might very well depend on what kind of editing you want to do and/or for whom you want to work.
And the second part … wanting to be a Colorist and knowing Apple Color would be of much advantage.

Photoshop is probably the most important app to learn outside of FCP.
The best Color product on a Mac is Color. If you have any good color grading facilities near you, go spend a few hours with a colorist if you can and pepper them with questions about what they do and why. Watch a bunch of movies paying special attention to the coloring. There are some great books out there about the theory of color and are quite handy.
I have a DVD here on the Cow that will get you up and running in Color very quickly.
