I had the same problem with a WD drive, turns out that some WD models put themselves to sleep after a certain period of time, regardless of the energy Saver settings on the Mac causing FCP to crash. I have found no way to override the sleep settings so I no longer use the drive.

I’ve seen material we’ve shot projected on a large screen from a Sony 4K projector and it looked great, no issues with artifacts, if you want to be surethough just add a Convergent Design NanoFlash

I’ve noticed, the opposite, that timeline scrubbing and trimming with all flavours of XDCam is certainly faster in FCP7

I’ve used the camera and I can tell you the quality of the lens is better than the EX lenses, Servo controls felt good.

Considering the cost of the camera it’s a great utility lens that you can swap out when you need to

I’ve never had a problem, even using the FCP keyer, but our DOP is VERY good!

Unfortunately, like DV, XDCam is not forgiving of poor lighting
