    Kevin,

Practically all of our interviews are shot green screen, using XDCAM HD 50Mbps.

If the lighting is done correctly, and that’s a big IF… then we can achieve acceptable results.

We use Ultimatte’s “Advantedge” software for most of the work, and while this software is supposed to work in FCP, we usually do it in After Effects for stability reasons.

Just about any show we’ve done in the past few years has used this workflow. Are the results perfect? No. But honestly, I’d blame poor lighting (not understanding how to light green screens) much more than the codec. That’s just my opinion.

    Hi Kevin,
I think that you can make very good CK with the EX-1 and being 420 is a completely different world than DV.
    Good lighting?

PS: In the SONY XDCAM forum have been lately few threads about CK with the EX.

I’ve never had a problem, even using the FCP keyer, but our DOP is VERY good!

Unfortunately, like DV, XDCam is not forgiving of poor lighting

    Hi Mark !

What took my great interest in your post- is your possible huge experience with Ultimatte’s ADVANTEDGE.

Wouldn’t you write any tutorial on working with this software ?

    Regards

    Also Mark
