I’ll toss in my 2 cents here, coming from an IT background.
I’ve ‘ghosted’ several machines – the process of copying one entire system drive to another PC, just to save the time of re-installing Windows and all programs again. I’ve also done many, MANY total reinstalls. With ghosting, you bring all of the headaches and potential headaches from the old machine right to the new one. Generally speaking, Windows works best for a while after a fresh install. After months or years of installing and uninstalling programs, Windows Updates, etc., inconsistencies between system files can develop, either causing current problems, or setting up for trouble when given a totally new hardware configuration to try to work with.
And I’m only talking about programs like Microsoft Word and Excel. I’d be very hesitant about ghosting a system with software as complex and persnickety as an editing suite.
Do yourself a favor, and set up the new machine along side your current one if possible. If you’d planned on using the keyboard and monitor(s) from your old machine, then share them between the two while you load the new one with software using a KVM switch.

We’ve run into this before, and had to create the text very large to start with in Photoshop, then import to PPro.

To eliminate the obvious, are you certain that ‘Background’ isn’t checked in the Title Properties?

Nevermind. Figured it out. The Auto Rotate setting in the camera was being fooled because the camera is pointing downward.

Load your 720P sequence in the Source Monitor. Drag that sequence from the Source Monitor into a new 1080P sequence, then scale the nested sequence to fit.

Usually thought of as being caused by the camera applying a sharpness filter. If you can, turn that off. Andrew Devis explains how to deal with it in this series…

I would suggest this video from Adobe’s Colin Smith on Noise Reduction. Though the version of Audition in the video is CS5.5, the technique hasn’t changed.
But basically, you select a representative section of the noise by itself, then use the Noise Reduction process to remove that noise. This works extremely well with constant noises, such as fans and A/C vents. CC also has the Sound Remover which IMO works better on short, more transient sounds.

I’ve had to reinstall Premiere twice because of problems with Looks, and generally after an CC update is applied. Looks like Red Giant may be having trouble keeping up.

Have you tried cleaning out the cache and trashing preferences? Usually weird behaviors like this can be taken care of this way.

OK. Well, in Audition the recommended(by Adobe) method is to use the FFT Filter, and select the Kill the Mic Rumble preset, which sort of works, but misses quite often, so I usually just enlarge the waveform and zoom into it until the pops stick out like sore thumbs, then reduce them manually.
In Premiere, it’s difficult to zoom in enough to see the pops clearly., but first you should de-select “Rectified Waveforms” in the Timeline Settings menu, then enlarge and zoom into your waveform. If you can get zoomed in enough, the pops should be very visually evident. Unfortunately, using this method in Premiere involves keyframing the audio to drop the level of the plosive.
