Is the Layer that is letting all the light through by any chance a 2D Layer? I think lights only interact when you tick the 3D switch.

That’s what I’ve done in the past aswell. Crank up the Pre-Comp size so you don’t get the cut off. Works fine for me.

had exactly that on my last project aswell. everything was ok though. no corrupted files or anything else. so it really is just a small little bug.

Basically working with the Cam in 3D-Space need a bit of practise to get the whole motion nice and smooth. But the end product really can look great.

Got to the frame you want to make a still image of, then goto Modify->Make Freeze Frame. Then all you have to do is go to File->Export->Using Quicktime Conversion. Here you can select ‘Still Image’ in the Format option. Then hit ‘Options..’ to select JPEG from the pulldown menue.

That’s all there is to it.

oops. Just noticed that FCP has already deinterlaced my footage because the sequence I built the Video in is set to DV-PAL. So I guess that solves the problem! And now I know why I alway had to render each clip the moment I set it in my DV-PAL timeline…
I guess next time I should cross-check my render settings in AE so that I can miss out the step of FCP having to render upper to lower fields.

or you could take the text layer and pre-compose it (and be sure to move all the effects into the new comp!). Then make the text comp alot bigger than the original comp. that should make the shine go right to the end of the screen.

I’ve got AE 6.5 and under Prefs you can ajust the brightness und ‘User Interface Colors’. However, you can’t choose a special color, only adjust the contrast. So it’s either black or white. I guess in AE 7 it should work the same.
