  • Thanks for the file. That doesn’t seem to work once dynamics are in place. I’ll keep exploring..

I think the best solution is to export the plate right from PF Track. In the exports node, there should be an option fo you to export the image sequence.

It appears that this is an R13 issue. I opened the same scene file on a newer version of C4d and everything works. The thing with R13 is that SSS doesn’t have the additional controls that R15 has in regards to the ‘Direct’ and ‘Cache’ modes for SSS. You’ll want to choose the best method that goes with your SSS path length and renders will correspond with that.

Thanks Brian. I was going more for something like this with a nice curve into the bottom:

I ended up getting better results bringing my Loft ‘Mesh Subdivision U’ levels down to a minimum and adding a hypernurb to smooth it all out.

Here’s a scene file if that helps.

I found that if you just instance geometry under the Generate tab, that will be the best solution. That way you can bypass the hair tag and create a regular material.

This is the result of only changing the renderer.

Thanks for looking into that- I just tested that and it seems to be a good work around. I guess in the future the more precise way would be to use vertex maps in cases where you really want to control growth in particular areas, but those are a little more difficult to animate. I’ll have to do a little more research on that method. I know there are a few Xpresso setups and Python scripts out there, so I’ll explore that option a bit more.

Thanks Adam- I think maybe something is up with my texture mapping? I’ve uploaded a file that illustrates the issue I’m having. It seems to work fine on a plane, but on my text there’s an issue.
