I ran into the same problem a few months ago. You need to check the Disable video output when in the background check box in your playback preferences. Best of luck.

8.5 x 11 is 612 x 792 pixels. You can change your canvas size by going to Edit, Project Properties. Best of luck.

1. What is your favorite NLE, and why?
Currently I”m a fan of Premiere but it still has a long way to go. I still rely heavily on FCP7.
2. What NLE do you see leading in the industry in the next 10 years?
I would have told you FCP before X came out. So a lot can change really quick. Adobe seems to really want to become King of the Hill in my opinion.
3. What should the post-production industry include?
I agree with Mark. When I started out in the news it took three people to do what I can do on my own. I wear more hats then I have ever worn.
4. What do you see the post-production industry as a whole looking like in the next 10 years?
As long as the future is not like Demolition Man we should be fine.

Projects like this can be created or completed in After Effects or Motion. Take a look at this example that I did in After Effects for a Book Trailer. If you aren’t an artist check out stock sites such as istockphoto.com where you can buy illustrator files and then bring them into After Effects and animate them. If you don’t want to do any of it be sure to check out the Services button at the top of the page right here on the COW. Hope this helps and best of luck.

This is how it was done:
-Text layer was added above the layer with the movie.
-Match Move behavior added to text layer
-Hit F2 to open Behaviors tab
-Make sure Type = Transformation
-Move the anchor point to the area you want to track
-Select the Scale Adjust button so Position and Scale are enabled
-You will get a new option below Anchor called “Rotation-Scale.”
