When I color correct I use the 3-way color corrector. If I have more time/budget I go into a Color Grading application like Color or DaVinci. They are amazing! To get an idea check out this reel I did: Color Grading Example

I tried to re-create your problem with the Underwater filter and I can’t get the edge to disappear. What are your settings. Have you tried it with another clip to see if it is the clip? Can you zoom in on the clip to cover up the missing edge?

Happy to help. I have done it both ways and it seems to work. I imagine that adding the graphics latter at 29.97 would be better but I never did any side by side comparisons.

I have had to make 24p 29.97 for broadcast and Compressor does a great job. Default settings never worked for me. This is a great article that will help: https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/converting_frame_rates_compressor.html

As mentioned before. It really depends on the feel you want to give your video. I would do the Camera shake in After Effects with the Wiggler. It does a great job.

I have an update on Premiere Pro to DaVinci Resolve workflow for Cannon DSLR: We shot a video with the 5D Mark II. I brought the RAW files into PPro and edit the project. It included speed changes. I then created an XML file and brought the project into DaVinci Resolve. I color graded the RAW files and then rendered them out and brought them back into PPro. DaVinci won’t work with all codecs (most of the cameras we shot with) but it will work with the h.264 that the 5D creates. Here is a link to the final project:
